School Apps

There are a range of different apps that we use at Ivanhoe, which we know can be a lot to keep track of! The guide below will help with some of the basics.

ARBOR

 Arbor is the system that we use for communications, and setting homework, as well as  taking the register and issuing house points in lessons.

Arbor for Parents

• As a parent, you can access Arbor online, or download the app.  These will allow you to view your child’s timetable, attendance, house points and consequences, as well as any homework that they have been set. Reports will also be available in the Arbor app.  Full details for accessing this can be found here.

Arbor for Students

• Students can access Arbor to view the same types of information, either by going through Moodle (see below), using a browser or the Arbor student app. 
• If your child does not know their log in for Arbor, they can click the ‘forgot your password’ link to have instructions send to their school email address. 

Single Sign On for Abor

• Please note that the ‘Log in with Microsoft’ button does not work for parents or students.  This is an Arbor issue and nothing that the school can change at present

SENECA

Seneca is new to Ivanhoe this year, and is a platform that allows homework to be set for students, and also allows students to access content to test and quiz themselves. It can be accessed here Seneca - Learn 2x Faster or you can download an app. As we become more familiar with this platform, we will share more information.

Seneca for Parents

• You may have received an email inviting you to sign up – signing up allows you to link to your child and view the homework that has been set for them.

Seneca for Key Stage 4 Students

• Students will have an email in their school inbox with details of how to log in.  Simply follow the instructions to set up Seneca with the courses you are doing. 
• We have paid for Seneca School Premium for all Key Stage 4 students, which allows them access to a range of content for revision, quizzing and self testing.  

Seneca for Key Stafe 3 Students

• Students in year 7, 8 and 9 will have received an email with a log in for Seneca.  They have access to all of the basic features, and may be set homework through Seneca.

Upgrading Seneca

• You or your child may see areas of the Seneca site that mention upgrading to Seneca Premium as an individual.  This allows access to more of the revision and quizzing features and is personal choice – there is no requirement by the school for you to upgrade and nothing set by school will require any paid features.

Moodle

• Moodle is the schools VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) .  There is a link to Moodle on every school device, and the homepage will include links for Arbor, student emails, daily messages, and to curriculum resources for the subject your child studies. Only students can access Moodle using their normal school email and password.
