What a fantastic residential visit to Plas Gwynant we had last week. The students were an absolute credit to the school from the moment we set off.
The days were full on from when they woke up until just before bedtime! The aim of the trip was for students to challenge themselves and spend time in their ‘Growth Zone’. There were moments when they were wet, cold, or found an activity difficult, but the sense of achievement afterwards made it all worthwhile. We saw new friendships form, lots of laughter, and constant encouragement between them when things felt tough. We went down a slate mine, walked up a gorge, canoed and on the last day the students were sent off on an unaccompanied orienteering task, with a map and a compass and we followed discreetly from a distance.
It was great to spend 3 days with them all getting to know the students better and watch the amazing team work and resilience they showed. I couldn't of done it without the fantastic staff team. A huge thank you to Mrs Lane, Mr Muller and Mr Mills (who stepped in last minute with only a few hours to pack).
