
We have made a series of refreshing summer time dishes to keep cool whilst working within the food room.
We have made fruit tartlets to develop skills in the food science of gelatinization when making a crème pâtisserie filling. The results were bright, tasty and vibrant! Perfect for a summer treat!
Whilst embracing the World Cup we have also recognised links with the heitage and culture through the food that we make and enjoy.
We have made a range of different items across the year groups such as Empanadas and American style panackes whilst learning the food science of raising agents. Some also made a tasty stir fry using great fresh and colourful ingredients. Look at the amazing examples of food created this week!
During the recent intense period of heat, we kept our learners cool and refreshed with hydration stations that were set up within the food room for students to grab a drink to support their concentration and hydration levels. This was very popular!
