CELEBRATING EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES WITHIN FOOD AND NUTRITION 2026

Last week within the food room, we marked European Day of Languages by making some dishes from an assortment of different European countries!

Year 7 made Croque Monsieur which was a great test of their practical skills in using the hob and controlling temperature. They also grated cheese, used knife skills, cracked an egg and coated their bread! The results were some tasty and delicious snacks which will enable students to make snack foods for themselves at home, developing both independance and life skills.

GCSE Food and Nutrition students in Year 10 developed their practical skills by making Potato Dauphinoise and Fruit Clafoutis. We have also made Tarte Tatin, drawing upon and devloping a range of different culinary skills and techniques such as caramelisation and improving knife skills.
