A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

Hello to all our parents and carers,

I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I am Kate Whittlesey, Chair of Local Governing Body (LGB) at Ivanhoe School, and I'm delighted to be part of the school community.

Our Governing Body is a team of people who bring different skills, experiences and perspectives, but who all have one thing in common - we want the very best for the learners at Ivanhoe.

We work closely with our Headteacher and school leadership team, providing support, challenge and oversight around the school's priorities and its continued development, whilst making sure that the views and interests of our wider school community are considered.

Could you be our next LGB member?

This term, we are looking to welcome some new governors to our team. 

You don't need to have been a governor before, and you certainly don't need to be an education expert. Governors come from all sorts of backgrounds, and the different skills and experiences that parents and members of our local community can bring are hugely valuable.

You might have experience in business, finance, HR, safeguarding, communications, IT, project management or another area - or you may simply have an interest in supporting your child's school and wanting to make a positive contribution.

We'd particularly love to hear from parents and carers who might be interested in finding out more.

A big thank you to everyone who has already expressed an interest. We really appreciate you taking the time to get in touch, and we will be following up with those who have contacted us.

This is our final call for expressions of interest this term, so if you've been thinking "I wonder if I could do that?" - please do get in touch!

Being a governor is a great opportunity to gain a real insight into the work of the school, meet and work with a fantastic team, and play a part in helping shape the opportunities we provide for our young people.
