A GREAT FIRST WEEK FOR YEAR 7

A message from Mrs Steere,

"I would like to say a huge well done to our Year 7 students on the excellent start they have made to life and Ivanhoe School.

The move from primary school is a big one. New faces, new routines, a much bigger site and a lot of new information can feel overwhelming at times. That's why it has been so pleasing to see the way our Year 7 learners have approached these first few days. 

They have shown real determination,  getting stuck into lesso, finding their way around school and embracing new experiences with positivity and enthusiasm. It hasn't all been easy, but they have approached each day with a willingness to learn and give things a go.

They have also begun to demonstrate our value of mattering. Whether through showing kindness to one another, listening carefully to staff or respecting the people around them, they are already contributing to the Ivanhoe Way.

I would also like to thank our older learners. They have played an important part in helping Year 7 feel welcome. From offering directions and advice to simply saying hello and setting a positive example, they have shown how much they care about the newest members of our school community.

It is still very early days, but the signs are extremely positive. We are delighted with the start Year 7 have made and look forward to seeing their confidence grow over the coming weeks and months.

Well done Year 7, and thank you to all those at home who have helped make their first week such a success."
