Welcome to the Ivanhoe Virtual Tour, for prospective new students.
As you can imagine, with the current situation, we cannot physically invite you into the school building for our Open Evening this year. But we are still keen to showcase, for you, all that Ivanhoe has to offer, and extend to you a very warm welcome.
We have put together a selection of videos for you to watch with your child. We hope that these will answer questions you may have about the school as a whole and to give you some short introductions to what our subject departments have to offer.
We would recommend that you start with the introduction from our Headteacher, Mrs Alison Allford.
The deadline to apply for a secondary school place is 31st October 2021. You can apply for your place on the Leicestershire County Council Website by clicking this link - secondary school admissions.
You can see the full Ivanhoe admission details including catchment area map by clicking here.
If you have any further questions about the school, which are not answered by these videos, please take a look at our comprehensive website.
If you need further assistance please contact our Admissions Officer, Mrs Amanda Gray by email at a.gray@ivanhoe.co.uk
The 'Student Voice' is very important at Ivanhoe. In usual circumstances we have an active student council, who focus on issues important to our students. In the past this has included implementing more outdoor seating for students through fund raising and pushing for the recycling of old uniforms when we made the change. Most recently their effort to reduce single use plastics in school - in particular the 'Water Bottles, not Bottled Water' campaign, has seen the canteen stop selling bottled water, saving up to 1200 bottle each week.
In addition our Year 9 House Leaders work hard to set an example for our younger students, as well as organising interhouse competitions and charity days during the school year.

At Ivanhoe we have a vision for our curriculum:
On their 'journey to excellence' students have the right to a curriculum which;
To do this we provide a wide range of high quality learning experiences and creative learning activities which engage students, stimulate their imagination and allow for rapid acquisition of knowledge and skills. We push for high levels of achievement and good behaviour whilst meeting the needs, aptitudes and interest of all students.
